Hi guys, I want to tell you Harry Potter's story...
So, let's begin.
Magic Under Way
Joanne Rowling came over an idea of a story about a young magician Harry Potter in an overcrowded coach heading from Manchester to London. It was the weekend, Joanne was on her way to the capital after the date with her boyfriend (Joanne was employed in a charitable institution Amnesty International, and used to print her stories in the office computer). Suddenly she pictured to herself a lean dark boy with a scar on his forehead, not even thinking of possessing a talent of a magician.
Joanne had no possibility to write and all the four-hour-trip she dreamed up new details of a sudden image. That very evening she began a story named Sorcerer's Stone. Later she changed all those first pages almost completely, but that was the beginning of Harry Potter Story, summer 1990.
Dictionary Heroes
Soon the young magician came in for not only his story, but also friends, aliens, and a complete world for living. Many characters were pictured from Joanne’s friends and companions, sometimes even from herself.
Thus, the know-it-all Hermione Granger reminds of Joanne aged 11. Professor Severus Snape approaches one of Rowling’s schoolteachers, and Gilderoy Lockhart is almost a complete copy of her friend.
- Just believe me, the person being the baseline for Gilderoy Lockhart, is even more ill-favoured, says Joanne. He used to talk big, and all his fiction pictured him as an outstanding, brave, and distinguished person!
Original names of the characters were found among the plant names, medieval hallows, in maps, dictionaries, and even on the memorials to war victims. For instance, Harry’s last name used to be the last name of Joanne’s playmate in a magicians game, Jan Potter. Severus Snape is a name of a small village in England.
